Hi, I'm Christina Park.

Product designer for enterprise software

With nearly 10 years in design and 6+ years in product design, I solve complex business problems by focusing on user needs, designing for enterprise SaaS products to impact customers through technology and human-centered design.

Passionate about using design thinking to influence products, teams, and design practices.

Curious to learn more about my career journey and how these experiences influence my design process?

Becoming a product designer was not a direct path.
But, all my experiences have one thing in common — working with a human-centred mindset and solving human problems.

May 2014
I’ve always been an artist at heart. One of my coolest project was partnering with Holt Renfrew, Toronto's leading luxury brand, for the "In the Air" window installation.
June 2016
During my studies at Bauhaus Universität Weimar in Germany, I took traveling as seriously as my studies. The AR tour at the Casa Batlló made me rethink my aspiration of becoming a high school teacher.
April 2017
Back in Toronto, I finished teacher’s college and then decided to double down with a Master's in Museum Studies and a Master's in UX at the University of Toronto to follow my new dream of working on digital projects in museums.
May 2017
I spent 2 years working as a Cultural Events Coordinator at a local art gallery.
August 2018
Feeling a bit frustrated with the culture industry, I joined a team of 4 at the eCampusOntario research lab.

We designed a mobile app for ONCAT, bringing digital solutions to the post-secondary transfer system in Ontario.
September 2018
I kicked off my entrepreneurial streak by winning 1st place at the NEXT Startup Sprint with a multi-residential building security tech POC.
May 2019
The startup adventures continued at Centivizer, where I was a game UI designer and tester. We created and tested innovative games and activities for people with dementia in long-term care.
June 2019
Teaming up with two engineer friends, we designed an AR mobile app for caregivers to improve museum accessibility for children with autism spectrum disorder, snagging the Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA) award.
July 2019
I joined IBM Power Systems as a User Researcher, diving into design research for end-to-end AI offerings and using the Enterprise Design Thinking framework for sales and go-to-market strategies.
August 2020
Then I switched to the IBM Z team to sharpen my skills as a content designer, focusing on animation and motion graphics production for product pages and product videos.

I became one of the IBM designated subject matter expert of the IBM Digital Video Content Design.

“Christina is dedicated to the projects she works on and exceptionally well organized in her design work. In every meeting I’ve been in with Christina, she is professional and mature. I’ve seen Christina apply Design Thinking practices to her projects and also as a facilitator/mentor for IBM’s Jump Start program with new IBM hires. I think Christina would be an asset to many teams, as she has a diversity of design skills that could be applied to any project.”

July 2021
I rediscovered my love for teaching and education, becoming an instructor at Juno College of Technology, University of Toronto, and George Brown College, where I am teaching user research, UX design, UI design, UX leadership, and information architecture.

“I really appreciate the industry and professional experience you bring to the course, especially when it comes to a course like UX leadership.”

Student, Master of Information

January 2022
I joined the growing IBM Security design team as the product designer.

“You are kindness and creativity, personified. The way you teach adn guide those around you, with quiet humility, is inspiring. I am so thankful to have been your teammate, and I can't express my appreciation for your trust and transparency with me enough.”

Jordan, Design Lead

Today
Today, I’m creating better set up and onboarding experiences at IBM Security. I am open to new opportunities to collaborate with people who share my passion for making lives better through design, art, and technology.
